Vegan – Dairy Free – Gluten Free – Refined Sugar Free
Any nut butter lover knows that Reese’s Peanut Butter cups are just one of the best things EVER! But sadly, they are too full of sugar, salt, vegetable oil and additives to be a regular occurrence (if we could we would eat them EVERY day!) So we decided to have a go at making our very own healthy homemade peanut butter cups and see if they are as good as the real deal! (…we’re pleased to announce they are!)
Enjoy!

- 1/3 cup Coconut Oil
- Peanut Butter OR Almond Butter
- Pinch of salt
EQUIPMENT
- Saucepan

- Tea spoons
MAKING
METHOD
Our recipe for Homemade Healthy Peanut Butter Cups is dangerously easy… we are probably going to be making this far to often…
- Melt the coconut oil, honey/maple syrup and cacao powder in a saucepan on a low heat – (stir continuously) Remove from heat and stir in a pinch of salt.
- Spoon a tsp (ish) of chocolate mix into each cake case
- Spoon a tsp (ish) of Peanut butter or almond butter on top of the chocolate
- Spoons another tsp (dish) of chocolate on top of your nut butter
- Place in the freezer for 60 minutes – check the bottom is firm before removing them!
- Store in the fridge
Tip : Put your cupcakes on to a plate or tray before filling them – this way it’s easy to transport them to the freezer! The struggle was real trying to get them from the kitchen counter to the freezer without spilling them!
There’s not too much washing up – but we did get a bit messy filling the cups!
